Chief Content Officer Triple H brought back a lot of talented names in the promotion. Be it Karrion Kross and Bronson Reed, they worked under Triple H when he used to run NXT. Hunter is ready to bring back a tag team this time, as reports mention that the Authors of Pain, Akam and Rezar, could be on their way back to WWE TV. They will be back with their old manager, WWE Hall of Famer Paul Ellering, who once managed the Road Warriors. The current plan is for them to appear in Friday Night SmackDown.

Interestingly, the AOP was reportedly signed by WWE in August 2022. They were on the internal travel list as of May 2023 but have not made any appearance since signing the deal with the promotion. The promotion was rooting to bring them back into NXT, but those plans never panned out. The reason remains uncertain on why the WWE did not use the tag team despite signing them long back.
