WWE COO Triple H sends off humble invite to 76ers' Joel Embiid after being fined for viral gesture

The build-up for the Wrestlemania XL has officially begun, with the Road to WM officially set to open during the Royal Rumble. The excitement to watch the biggest wrestling showcase gets bigger as the fans cannot wait for the two-day extravaganza to take over. In 2024, WrestleMania is heading to Philadelphia, the home to several sporting franchises and teams. Philly is prominent due to its interest in sports and how successful the teams have been. There is a certain WWE interest in the place as well, as a basketball superstar showcased his fondness for the brand but had to face a penalty for doing so.

Triple H extends WM invitation to 76ers' Joel Embiid

Recently, Philadelphia 76ers' Joel Embiid was penalized for making an obscene gesture during an NBA game against the Portland Trail Blazers. The gesture unfolded with 2:14 remaining in the third quarter of the Sixers' 126-98 victory, following Embiid's length-of-the-court jumper. He finished with 35 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists, and six blocked shots. Interestingly, the gesture that he made use of is a beloved one among WWE fans and was famously used by Triple H & Shawn Michaels in the D'Generation X. Embiid was fined $35,000 for repeatedly doing the gesture.

But Triple H, as humble of a personality as he is, extended a gracious WrestleMania invitation for Joel Embiid, so that he can do the gesture in a place where people will love to see it. HHH tweeted, 'Hey 

@JoelEmbiid - I know a place where you can do that all day, and everyone will love it. @WrestleMania 40 is right there in Philly...'

Joel Embiid humbly declines Triple H's WM offer

Unfortunately, Joel Embiid had to decline the offer. While the 76ers' athlete showcased a lot of zeal to attend the show, he had to give up on the opportunity as he will not be in Philly during WrestleMania days.

Responding to Triple H, he said: 'Yes sir!! I would love to but I don’t think I’m gonna be in Philly for that…'

WrestleMania is often known to bring in celebrities and notable sports stars in the area. But Joel Embiid may not be there at the Lincoln Financial Field as he will have other commitments to take care of.
