Apple has introduced the new MacBook Pro, powered by the M4 chip and its higher variants, M4 Pro and M4 Max. In line with the rumours, the new MacBook Pro now has 16GB of unified memory on the base variant of the 14-inch model, while both models, including the 16-inch screen version, now come with an optional nano-texture display option. The entire MacBook Pro 2024 lineup supports Apple Intelligence with the latest macOS Sequoia update, much like the new iMac and Mac mini, announced earlier this week.

Apple MacBook Pro 2024 price in India

The MacBook Pro 14-inch with M4 chipset starts at Rs 1,69,900, while the version with M4 Pro is priced starting at Rs 1,99,900. The higher 16-inch MacBook Pro powered by M4 chip costs a starting price of Rs 2,49,900. The pre-orders for the new MacBook Pro models are now live, while the sale in India begins November 8 via Apple Store Online, Apple BKC, and Apple Saket.

Apple MacBook Pro 2024 specifications

The 2024 version of the MacBook Pro with the M4 chip, Apple says, can offer up to 1.8x faster performance than the M1-powered MacBook Pro, allowing "tasks like editing gigapixel photos, and even more demanding workloads like rendering complex scenes in Blender are up to 3.4x faster." Apple also claims the new Neural Engine is over three times more powerful than the one in the M1 chip -- which is "great for features in Apple Intelligence and other AI workloads." The M4-powered MacBook Pro 14-inch now has three Thunderbolt 4 ports, which can support up to two high-resolution external displays.

Those who want more power can go for the M4 Pro chip, available on both 14-inch and 16-inch versions. Apple says the higher variant has a 14-core CPU, including 10 performance cores and four efficiency cores "for a jump in multicore performance." The GPU in the chip has up to 20 cores, delivering twice as fast performance as the M4. It is also three times faster than models with M1 Pro, the company said in a release.

For the ultimate power, Apple's 16-inch MacBook Pro comes with the option of the M4 Max chip, featuring a 16-core CPU, up to a 40-core GPU< and more than half a terabyte per second of unified memory bandwidth. Apple claims the Neural Engine in the M4 Max is over three times faster than M1 Max, "allowing on-device AI models to run faster than ever." It supports up to 128GB of unified memory that will allow developers to easily interact with large language models (LLMs) with about 200 billion parameters.

Apart from increased performance, the new MacBook Pro models now come with an option of a nano-texture display that "dramatically reduces glare and distractions from reflections." Apple claims the MacBook Pro can show SDR content at up to a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, while the HDR content runs at up to 1,600 nits. The MacBook Pro 2024 has a 12MP Center Stage camera, claimed to deliver enhanced video quality "in challenging conditions." The new laptop from Apple has a six-speaker sound system with Spatial Audio support and Dolby Atmos.
