Google Photos app update: Google has announced that it is bringing an updated video editor to the Google Photos app. This redesigned video editor comes with artificial intelligence (AI)-powered features, and it is available on both Google Photos' Android and iOS apps.

As a part of this update, Google is bringing AI-powered video presets to Google Photos Android and iOS apps. The company, via an update on its community page, said that these presets can automatically trim the video, adjust lighting, control speed, or apply effects such as dynamic motion tracking of main subject. The company also said that presets can also zoom-in on the main action or apply slow-motion effect to a video quickly. The available presets include Basic Cut, Slow-Mo, Zoom and Track.

Google Photos features exclusive to Android app

Beyond the AI-powered presets, Google has also announced a bunch of new video editing features that will be available exclusively within the Google Photos Android app. The first tool that Google is bringing to its Photos app is an updated Trim tool. This tool lets users cut the footage with greater precision.

Google also said that it is bringing a new Auto enhance button to its Google Photos app. This new button will auto enhance the colours and the overall stability of a video.

Lastly, Google is bringing a new Speed tool to the Photos app. This tool can help users set the pace of the video. Users can either speed up the pace for action or slow it down significantly for a more dramatic effect.

Availability

As far as availability is concerned, Google says that it has started rolling out these new features to all Google Photos users globally.

It is worth noting that these new features come just days after the company rolled out another update to its Google Photos app. The update brought support for more descriptive search queries in the Google Photos Android and iOS apps. It also announced a new Ask Photos feature that is available only in the US as a part of Google Labs.
