New Delhi: In a push to make powerful AI more accessible, Google has introduced Gemma 4 - its latest family of open AI models. The company says these are its most advanced “open” models yet, designed to handle complex reasoning, coding and even real-world tasks, while still being light enough to run on everyday devices.
Gemma 4 is being positioned as something developers and even advanced users can run locally, including on laptops and smartphones.
What Exactly Is Gemma 4?
Gemma 4 is a new set of AI models built using the same research behind Google’s Gemini series. But unlike Gemini, these models are open and can be downloaded, modified and used freely under an Apache 2.0 license.
