iOS 18.0.1 now available, fixes nagging iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro issues
The iOS 18.0.1 update has a build number 22A3370 and is available for all iPhone models eligible for iOS 18.
Apple has rolled out iOS 18.0.1, an incremental update to iOS 18 that fixes the most common issues many iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro users have faced since their launch. The changelog of the new update also confirms that issues like an unresponsive touchscreen, slowed performance, and freezing of cameras were real on the latest iPhone models. A fix for them also hints that the software glitches impacted several users. The update is now available for users everywhere, including India.

- Touch screen may be temporarily unresponsive in certain circumstances on iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models
- Camera may freeze when recording macro mode video on the Ultra Wide camera in 4K with HDR turned off on iPhone 16 Pro models
- Messages may unexpectedly quit when replying to a message with a shared Apple Watch face
- Performance may be impacted due to an issue with memory allocation on some iPhone

However, it fixes issues prevalent on the latest iPhones: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Issues like touchscreen unresponsiveness and freezing of cameras when recording macro videos in 4K were among the prominent ones, while some users also reported problems where the Message app crashed unexpectedly on the latest iPhone 16 devices.
How to update the iPhone
Go to Settings, followed by a tap on General and then Software Update. The iPhone will show the update, which users can download and install. Users must ensure their iPhone is connected to high-speed internet like 5G or Wi-Fi and has enough battery. The update will be installed after the iPhone reboots.
In addition to iOS 18.0.1, Apple has also released iPadOS 18.0.1, which fixes severe issues including bricking of M4 iPad Pro devices.
