Reliance Jio has started rolling out the free 100GB AI Cloud Storage offer, a new report said. Select users have reportedly received an SMS from Jio inviting them to "be the first to experience the new JioCloud" with a promotional offer of 100GB free cloud storage. Jio's cloud storage can be used to store any files and backups with sharing and syncing features across devices.

As reported by TelecomTalk, select users can now access the free 100GB offer on Jio AI Cloud, which was announced by Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani at the company's 47th annual general meeting in August. "We plan to launch the Jio AI Cloud Welcome Offer starting Diwali this year, bringing a powerful and affordable solution where cloud data storage and data-powered AI services are available to everyone everywhere," said Ambani, underscoring the importance of the cloud ecosystem in India to boost AI adoption.

The SMS received by users reads:

As a valued family member and JioCloud user, we want you to be the first to experience the new JioCloud. Enjoy 100 GB free storage, AI Memories, AI Scanner, DigiLocker and early access to new AI features.

A screenshot attached to the report shows the updated storage for the user in the JioCloud app. Republic Tech could not separately verify the screenshot's authenticity but has reached out to Reliance Jio for more clarity.

The report said Jio users can check if they are eligible for the 100GB AI Cloud offer through the JioCloud app, available on Android and iOS.

The 100GB AI Cloud offer, however, may last for a limited time. As pointed out by Ambani in his speech, Jio AI Cloud will "have the most affordable prices in the market for those needing even higher storage." The company, which is investing heavily into building an AI infrastructure in India with different partnerships -- including the one with the chip-making company Nvidia -- seeks to counter the existing cloud services such as Google Drive and iCloud.  The company has not announced storage tiers for JioCloud users yet.
