Reliance Jio launches JioBharat V3, V4 phones at India Mobile Congress

Reliance Jio has introduced two new models to the JioBharat series, JioBharat V3 and JioBharat V4, at the India Mobile Congress , the seventh edition of which kicked off on Monday in New Delhi. These 4G-enabled feature phones offer features such as live TV, UPI-based digital payments, and video streaming through the company’s suite of apps like JioTV, JioPay, and JioCinema, among others.

“The success of JioBharat V2 in 2023 laid a strong foundation, making it clear that India was ready for affordable, high-quality digital experiences,” said Jio’s president, Sunil Dutt. “Building on that momentum, Reliance Jio has now introduced the JioBharat V3 and V4, the next generation of affordable 4G feature phones that bring style and design into the heart of digital transformation.”

JioBharat V3, V4 features and price

The new feature phones offer a smartphone-like experience through Jio’s app ecosystem, powered by the company’s 4G network. Contrary to the rumours that hinted at the launch of a 5G-enabled feature phone, Jio is continuing with 4G phones. However, the V3 and V4 let users stream videos, watch live TV, chat with friends, and make online payments like smartphones through Jio’s apps like JioCinema, JioTV, JioChat, and JioPay optimised for feature phones.

The JioBharat V3 and V4 have TFT displays and T9 keyboards. They support up to 23 Indian languages, including English and Hindi. Jio says its new feature phones have 1000mAh batteries and can support microSD cards of up to 128GB storage to allow users store large files. These phones also have rear cameras that can help click photos but they will be more useful in online payments, helping users scan QR codes.

The price of the JioBharat V3 and V4 starts at Rs 1,099, and customers can buy either from JioMart, Amazon , or partner offline stores in the coming days. Jio is bundling a Rs 123 prepaid plan with the purchase of either JioBharat phone, providing users with unlimited voice calls and 14GB of data for a month.
