TECNO POVA 6 Neo 5G with Dynamic Island-like feature launched

TECNO has introduced the POVA 6 Neo 5G, a new budget smartphone with a Dynamic Island-like screen feature, called Interactive Dynamic Port. While it does not replicate all the features of Dynamic Island, introduced first on the iPhone 14 Pro series, it offers small snippets to view the phone’s charging status, minimise an ongoing call to the top tray, and manage music playback with a single tap. The company also claims the smartphone uses artificial intelligence (AI) to let users edit photographs.

The new POVA 6 Neo 5G has two configurations. The variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage costs Rs 11,999, while the version with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage is priced at Rs 12,999. It will be available from Amazon and partner offline stores from September 14 in Azure Sky, Midnight Shadow, and Aurora Cloud colours. The company will offer customers a year’s subscription to OTTPlay worth Rs 6,271 for free, alongside a Rs 1,000 bank discount and a Rs 1,000 bonus on exchange.

The smartphone boasts a 6.67-inch HD+ LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate and an Interactive Dynamic Port. Powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, paired with up to 8GB of RAM. Customers, however, have an option to bump up the RAM capacity through a virtual RAM expansion of up to 8GB. The smartphone also supports a microSD card of up to 1TB. It runs Android 14-based HiOS 14.5. The POVA 6 Neo 5G features a 108MP main camera and an 8MP selfie camera, housed inside the Interactive Dynamic Port. Keeping the lights on is a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The connectivity options on the TECNO POVA 6 Neo 5G include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and USB-C.
