Inbox by Gmail - the service in its entirety is now history. But if you feel that you miss the service - in case you were a user, then you could still check out its look and feel and visuals thereby potentially getting to relive nostalgia.

The look and feel of Inbox by Gmail could be brought back through n unofficial extension for the Chrome browser called the Inbox Theme For Gmail. Installing this extension brings back the Inbox theme to your Gmail Inboxes. The visual interfaces, after installing the extension, would be similar to that of the original Inbox.

However, the Inbox Theme For Gmail extension does bring only the look and feel - the visual experience, to your current Gmail Inboxes; the feature-set of the original Inbox has gone into sunset for good, there is seemingly no chance of retrieving the original feature set now.

To download this Chrome extension, navigate to the official Chrome web store. Once here, simply click on Add to Chrome to put the extension within your Chrome browsers.

At this juncture, it is worth noting that the Inbox for Gmail service also took with it the Google+ social platform - both of which have gone into oblivion from 2 April. We hope that you got sufficient time to back up all your stored data on Google+. In case you have not backed up personal info, then be informed that these would also fade away into the sunset just like Google+.

"From all of us on the Google+ team, thank you for making Google+ such a special place. We are grateful for the talented group of artists, community builders, and thought leaders who made Google+ their home. It would not have been the same without your passion and dedication," stated Google.

Coming back to the Inbox Theme for Gmail, the extension may require improvements considering the fact that it was released only on 30 January this year; hence, you could let us know your experience with the extension (for Chrome) in case you have resorted to using it.
