Google is slashing the prices of the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL phones in India ahead of the Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL launch on October 15. The Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL which were launched in India at Rs 39,999 and Rs 44,999 will sell for Rs 29,999 and Rs 34,999 respectively – that’s a substantial Rs 10,000 price drop. It is not permanent though. The Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL price drop is a limited period offer part of Flipkart’s upcoming Big Billion Day sales event. 

This means, the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL price cut will be applicable on Flipkart from September 30 to October 4 – during the Flipkart Big Billion Day sale. Post the sales event, chances are we may see the prices revert to the original. Apart from the flat discount, Flipkart will also be offering a few other benefits to potential buyers. Axis Bank Credit and debit card and ICICI Bank Credit card users can avail an additional 10 per cent instant discount during the Big Billion Day sale. Flipkart Plus users will get an additional 4 hours early access starting 8PM on September 29, so they’ll be the first ones to be eligible for the new prices. 

Google Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL specs and features

Speaking of specs, both the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL have a 12.2MP dual-pixel rear camera with a custom-built Sony IMX363 sensor with f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization (plus electronic image stabilization) - which happens to be their main USP. On the front, the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL come with an 8MP camera.  

In terms of core hardware, while the Pixel 3a has a 5.6-inch screen, the Pixel 3a XL comes with a bigger 6-inch display. Both the phones boast of a 1080p+ resolution and an OLED panel. Under the hood, the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 processor paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage (non-expandable). The dual-SIM phones run Android 9 Pie software with ‘minimum’ 3 years of OS and security updates. While the Pixel 3a comes with a 3,000mAh battery, the Pixel 3a XL has a larger 3,700mAh battery with 18W USB Type-C fast charging.  

Google Pixel 4 incoming

Google will launch the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL phones on October 15 in New York City. The company's YouTube livestream (that's already and ticking) teases “a few new things made by Google” and while the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are all but certain to make an appearance, there could be more hardware announcements.
