Nokia 6.2, the hugely expected (by loyalists) premium mid-range smartphone from HMD Global could now be launched earlier than expected. Multiple technical details that are speculated to be the technical specifications of the Nokia 6.2 have now surfaced, which theoretically indicate that the Nokia 6.2 could at least be in the works; before it is made official.

Now, a tipster going by the moniker LeaksNokia has taken to social media to “reveal” details which rumour mills indicate as being offered by the next-gen Nokia 6.2. As per these details, Nokia loyalists could verify the authenticity of this new leak, with what goes official with the Nokia 6.2. The key technical specifications that have surfaced at this instant are:

  • 6.2-inch display
  • 16MP dual rear cameras
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC
  • 4 GB, 6 GB RAM

LeaksNokia is also claiming that the Nokia 6.2 would go global after it is launched initially in China either during the end of January 2019 or early February this year.

At this juncture, it is worth noting that rumour mills not too long ago were rife about the Nokia 6.2 incorporating a notch-less display. The smartphone could seemingly suit the current Indian buyers’ trend considering the fact that the premium mid-range segment has been increasingly targeted of lat by almost all major brands, and more so by the Chinese brands that are now dominating shipments in the country. Here, South Korean smartphone giant Samsung has still managed to hold its own despite the intense Chinese competition.

Nokia handsets (smartphones and feature phones) have undoubtedly maintained their user base intact; before the HMD-Global branding, Nokia dominated buyers’ minds due to the fact that it was considered to offer reliability and brand value (for money). Now, post the HMD Global branding, the popularity is seemingly intact considering the fact that an increased number of smartphones (Nokia) have received and are in line to receive Android 9.0 Pie) OS update. Had there been diminished popularity for Nokia, the rollout of newer firmware updates would naturally have been slower and more phased than it is now.
