Xiaomi loyalists, apart from the launch of the Redmi Note 6 Pro, have lots to cheer about as the Chinese smartphone brand has stated that it would establish as many as 5000 offline Mi Stores all across India towards the end of 2019. Now, this development assumes significance considering the fact that Xiaomi has just launched its Redmi Note 6 Pro smartphone in India (that is priced at INR 13999).

At this juncture, the 5000 Mi physical store announcement by Xiaomi seemingly offers double bonanza for hardcore loyalists considering the fact that once open, all of these 5000 stores would sell the Redmi Note 6 Pro (and other flagship Xiaomi handsets) thereby potentially making them more reachable to the Indian populace.

Also, Xiaomi has made clear its intent of offering a premier retail flagship store experience to people in the rural areas of the country. The company is also letting Mi loyalists take up franchising opportunities for its new proposed retail stores throughout India.

Here, it is worth noting that Xiaomi’s Indian story started in 2014 when the Chinese brand started selling the Redmi mid-range series of smartphones whose USP was their comparatively affordable price tag and technical specification standards which then were offered only by premium phones. Now, Xiaomi has overtaken Samsung in overall smartphone shipments in India thereby acquiring numero-uno status in the country.

The company was also recently recognized by Guinness as having opened maximum retail stores (physically) at a given point in time. Then, Xiaomi opened simultaneously more than 500 physical retail stores (MiStores). Hence, Xiaomi’s latest proposal of setting up more than 5000 Mi Stores latest by closing of 2019 is of relevance.

These developments seemingly showcase Xiaomi’s focus on India. As of now, the Note 6 Pro would be available for purchase on Flipkart, MiStore, and the Mi Home Stores; beginning November 23 12 PM IST. This handset falls into the premium mid-range category and its USP is that it offers four cameras and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC that comes with the Quick Charge technology to allow comparatively faster battery charging.
