Sonal Mansingh's dance drama 'Bhava Ganga' held at Delhi's India Habitat Centre was an ode to river Ganga. Featuring artists from Dr Mansingh's Centre for Indian Classical Dances, the production took the audience on a journey across time — from the legend of Bhagirath’s penance to bring Ganga on Mother Earth, Prabhu Shri Ram’s encounter with the Kevat (boatman), and the divine presence of Ganga in Kashi as witness to Mahadev begging for alms from Devi Annapurna. Through compelling storytelling, 'Bhava-Ganga' depicted the river as a quiet observer of human evolution, delving into themes of holiness, ecological consciousness, and the cultural heritage of India. Mansingh's choreography and conceptualisation was applauded by the audience as it was a wake up call to live responsibly and preserve nature.
