Nation Bids Final Farewell to Ratan Tata as Last Rites Are Performed with State Honors in Mumbai

Ratan Naval Tata, former chairman of Tata Group, passed away at 86 on October 9 at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Over his two-decade leadership, Tata transformed the company from a traditional business into India’s largest and most influential conglomerate, renowned for landmark deals. Educated at Cornell University, Tata began his career on the shop floor of the family business in 1962, later becoming chairman of Tata Industries. In 1991, he succeeded his uncle, JRD Tata, as chairman of Tata Group, guiding it into a new era of global prominence. A recipient of the Padma Vibhushan, his legacy continues to inspire.
