Deoghar: A recent video shared by a student from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Jharkhand 's Deoghar has brought the attention of the people to such institute's hostel facilities and the affordability of public education in India.
The video shared by the AIIMS Deoghar student went viral on social media and gave a detailed glimpse into the living conditions and resources available to students at India's top medical institutions.
In the video titled, 'Room Tour of AIIMS,' the student the low cost of pursuing an MBBS degree at AIIMS Deoghar was shown, in which he informed about the tuition fees which is just Rs 5,586, while a furnished hostel room is charged only Rs 15 per month, and one-month electricity bill is cheaper than a Parle-g biscuit.
The single-occupancy room is equipped with basic amenities, which include a bed, study table, chair, and cupboard.
Additionally, the student stated in the video that 24-hour electricity is available for a nominal fee of Rs 4 per month. The video also shows a view of the campus and its surrounding landscape from the room’s balcony.
The video sparked considerable discussion on social media, particularly on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), where users praised the government's commitment to make healthcare education more accessible. 'Our world-class students deserve world-class amenities. Thanks, Government of India.", said a user on X. Another user lauded the facilities at AIIMS Deoghar, and said that it as a major step forward for healthcare in Jharkhand .
