Viral News: Customs officers recently caught a man in China for attempting to smuggle over 100 live snakes into mainland China from Hong Kong. The full episode, as described by a Chinese customs official on Tuesday, reveals the man's courage to smuggle live snakes hidden in his trousers.

Man Caught Smuggling Snakes

According to a Chinese customs statement to the media, the tourist was apprehended during normal checks at the Hong Kong-Shenzhen border. Following a deeper check, Chinese customs authorities discovered six tiny packages tucked inside the man's trousers pockets. These bags were carefully taped up and contained a variety of live snakes of various forms, sizes, and colours.

China, which is known to be a key hub for animal trafficking, has strict biosecurity and disease control policies that restrict the import of non-native species without legal clearance.

In recent years, the country has stepped up its efforts to curb the illegal wildlife trade in and round country's border areas.

The customs administration stressed that people who violate these laws will face legal penalties. However, the statement did not provide detailed specifics about the imprisoned individual's punishment.
