Canadian Woman Eats Late Husband’s Ashes After Discovering He Cheated on Her
A Canadian woman, Jessica , consumed her late husband’s ashes after discovering his multiple affairs, detailed in her memoir A Widow’s Guide to Dead Bastards.
In a shocking revelation, a Canadian woman, Jessica Waite, has disclosed that she consumed her late husband's ashes after learning about his multiple infidelities. Waite's story is detailed in her new memoir, A Widow’s Guide to Dead Bastards, where she narrates her journey of grief, betrayal, and a deeply emotional reaction to her husband's chronic cheating.
Jessica’s husband, Sean Waite, passed away in 2015 while on a work trip to Texas, USA. Shortly after his death, Jessica stumbled upon the devastating truth. While using his iPad to search for the hospital handling his body, the auto-fill feature in the browser exposed Sean’s secret life. Instead of the hospital's number, the search history showed terms like "Houston escorts," leading Jessica to uncover that her husband regularly sought out and paid high prices for escorts.
Shocking Discovery Through Search History
This discovery opened a floodgate of disturbing revelations. Jessica learned that her husband had been having affairs with multiple women over the years. He also downloaded and meticulously categorized hundreds of pornographic videos on his personal computer. Sean even rented an apartment in Colorado where he met with escorts or women from his dates.
Struggling with Betrayal and Loss
In her memoir, Waite recalls how the emotional turmoil left her feeling "detached from reality." Struggling to cope with the grief and the betrayal, she admitted to desecrating her husband’s remains in a moment of rage. “I’ve desecrated the remains of my partner in life,” she writes, recounting how she mixed his ashes with her dog's feces before, in despair and guilt, she consumed some of his ashes.
“But then, in despair and guilt, took more of his ashes — and actually ate them. The remains feel dry against my fingertips, coarser than baking powder, grainier than salt. They mix with the teary water, a mineral mud on the back of my tongue. I swallow,” Jessica described in a haunting passage from her book.
Waite’s memoir explores her emotional journey through heartbreak, betrayal, and the extremes of grief following her husband's death and her shocking discovery.
