New Delhi: Amidst the recent hype around the Coldplay concert set to take place on the 18th and 19th of January next year at DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai, tickets are set to go on sale on BookMyShow today.

As Coldplay returns to India after 9 years, the internet is flooded with videos and clips building excitement around the event. The British band will perform at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai, with the ticket sale set to go live today, 22nd September, at 12 PM. Despite the stadium’s 50,000-person seating capacity, scoring a ticket might be tougher than you think.

A recent viral post on X captivated internet users, showing a conversation where ChatGPT predicted the probability of securing a ticket could be as low as 22%. The post, captioned "odds of getting a Coldplay concert ticket," shared a detailed analysis by the virtual assistant.

According to ChatGPT, the number of interested attendees could rise from 78,000 to around 1.5 lakh by the weekend. Given the increased demand, the AI suggests the initial odds of securing a ticket are around 1 in 3. It also took into account the people who may not express interest online but still book, which adds an extra 30,000 fans, raising the total to 1,80,000 and making the chances 1 in 3.6.

However, ChatGPT also highlights that using multiple devices and accounts could further reduce the probability to 1 in 4.4, or a 22.7% chance.

The tweet quickly gained attention, amassing over 169.7K views, and the comments section filled with users pointing out additional variables to consider when booking tickets.

One user noted, “You probably missed out on the assumption that some users cannot afford VIP or premium tickets, which means more people will be vying for the general tickets, making the odds tougher.”

Another remarked, “People will likely try to buy the maximum number of tickets allowed a lesson from the Diljit and Dua Lipa concerts.”

A third commenter added, “Standing tickets will have the most demand. It’s best to focus on less-preferred options.”

Others highlighted factors like sponsor and organizer reserves, with one person suggesting the odds could drop to 1 in 7-8 for tickets priced between ₹2.5K to ₹4K.

One user disagreed with the analysis, writing, “Only 1 in 10 who show interest will actually buy a ticket. Tickets usually sell until the concert date. Open grounds don’t have a fixed capacity.
