Pennsylvania: Former US President Donald Trump made an unexpected campaign stop on Sunday as he donned an apron to step behind the counter at a McDonald’s in Feasterville, Pennsylvania.
The customers were stunned to see the former president learning to fry up fries while dishing out orders at the drive thru.
Trump, who has frequently questioned Harris’s claim of working at McDonald's, criticized her, saying, “She made a big part of her resume about working at McDonald’s, talking about how tough it was to make the fries. She never worked at McDonald’s.”
He was seen eagerly learning how to fry the restaurant’s iconic french fries, listening attentively as a McDonald's employee demonstrated the process.
“It takes skill to do it right and fast,” Trump remarked with a grin. After completing his crash course in fry-making, he handed out bags of food to customers at the drive-thru.
The former president used the light-hearted moment to take another jab at Harris.
Joking with reporters about his time behind the counter, Trump said, “I worked 15 minutes longer than Kamala Harris ever did. I could do this all day.” His playful banter continued when asked what he’d say to Harris on her upcoming 60th birthday. With a smile, he replied, “Happy Birthday, Kamala! I might even send her some flowers.”
Franchise owner Sal Giacomantonio welcomed Trump’s visit, emphasizing the positive impact of small businesses on local communities. Although he stressed that the store was not a political organization, Giacomantonio said the event provided an opportunity to highlight the value of local businesses.
Trump’s busy day was set to continue with plans to attend the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New York Jets game later that evening. Asked about his favorite McDonald’s menu item, Trump responded, “I like it all... but I do like the French fries, where I’ll be working.”
