Kathmandu: A powerful speech by a Nepali student, calling for a change in the country’s political and economic landscape, has taken the internet by storm. The student, identified as Abiskar Raut, delivered a passionate address at his school’s annual program, and his words have struck a chord with thousands online. Introducing himself as the head boy of Holy Bell School, he likened Nepal to a nurturing mother and questioned whether its people were giving back what she deserved—honesty, hard work, and dedication.

"Today, I stand here with a dream of building a new Nepal. The fire of hope and passion burns within me, but my heart is heavy because this dream seems to be slipping away," Abiskar said in the viral video.

"I put myself before you at this moment to shed light within your consciousness by piercing the dark nimbus that looms above. I am present here today to immortalise monumental change and the course of history," he proclaimed, his voice filled with conviction.

His speech wasn’t just emotional—it was a call to action. He tackled pressing issues like unemployment and corruption, slamming political parties for trapping the nation in their "selfish games."

"We are bounded by the chains of unemployment. We are trapped in the selfish games of political parties," he said, before adding a rallying cry: "If we do not raise our voices, who will? We are the fire that will burn away the darkness. We are the storm that will sweep away the injustice."

Abiskar’s closing words were equally hard-hitting.

"Our ancestors shed their blood to give us a nation. We cannot sell it. We cannot lose it. Now, we must decide: will we drown in the darkness of despair, or rise as the sun of hope? Will we change the fate of this nation, or will we let it remain in shackles?"

The two-minute, 19-second clip, which first surfaced on Reddit’s Nepal Social community, has now been attributed to Bijay Baral. Social media users have hailed Abiskar’s words as a wake-up call for Nepal’s youth, with many calling him an inspiration. The video continues to gain traction, sparking conversations about the future of the nation.
