Ex-Google Employee Joins Amazon With Rs 3 Crore Salary to Do Nothing, Netizens React
A senior Amazon employee’s confession about joining the company to earn a high salary while doing nothing at work has gone viral.
A senior employee at Amazon has recently shared why he joined a big firm. The reason left everyone surprised.
He said he has been earning a substantial salary while contributing very little to the company for over a year and a half. This confession was shared on Blind, a social media platform, and has quickly gone viral on the internet.
The employee, who works as a Senior Technical Program Manager, admitted that he joined Amazon with the specific aim of minimising his work efforts while benefiting from a generous salary. His annual compensation reportedly totals $370,000 (approximately Rs 3,10,39,263).
Despite earning a high salary, he admitted that he hasn't achieved any major goals or worked on important projects. Surprisingly, he's managed to avoid any scrutiny from his bosses and has kept his job and salary without facing any problems or consequences.
"I joined Amazon 1.5 years ago after being laid off from Google. I joined with the intention of doing ‘nothing,’ getting free money, and eventually getting put on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP),” the employee wrote in the caption.
Netizens Reaction On The Post:
One X user commented, "These people are ruining the game for everyone else that actually wants to work and earn an honest day's pay."
Others questioned how someone could choose such a path, asking what the employee does all day without meaningful goals. "What. How is that possible? And why would anyone go down such a sad, boring path? What do they do all day? No goals?" one user added.
Another person commented, "When the game is rigged, exploit the game," while another noted, "If you work a lot, you are either just inefficient, or keeping yourself busy with random BS."
