New Delhi: Vistara operated its last flight under its own brand today, November 11. From tomorrow onwards, the airlines will be merged with Air India .
The merger will reduce the number of full-service carriers in the Indian aviation space to five in a span of just over 17 years.
The merger will give Singapore Airlines a 25.1% stake in Air India , marking the end of Vistara.
Netizens took to X to pour heartfelt tributes to the airlines and expressed gratitude for the service. Following the merger, the airline, co-owned by a foreign carrier will cease to exist.

Merger with Air India
The Air India Group recently announced several management changes.
Vinod Kannan, Vistara's Chief Executive Officer and Chief Integration Officer for the merger, will continue in the latter role and join Air India’s Management Committee, reporting to CEO Campbell Wilson. Deepak Rajawat, Chief Commercial Officer of Vistara, will become the Chief Financial Officer of the expanded Air India Express, reporting to CEO Aloke Singh.

Campbell Wilson stated, "Over the past two years, the Tata airlines have worked diligently on one of the most complex mergers in aviation history, consolidating from four airlines to two amidst dramatic growth and transformation. We’re pleased to formalize a Group leadership that draws from all four legacy airlines as we enter the next phase of our journey."
Wilson also expressed gratitude to those retiring or transitioning within the Tata Group, recognizing their contributions to the foundation and future of the new Air India.
