Hockey Star Rani Rampal Slams Air India Over Damaged Luggage, Sparks Outrage on Social Media
Rani Rampal recently took to social media to express her frustration with Air India after receiving damaged luggage.
Viral News: Hockey star and Padma Shri Award recipient, Rani Rampal, recently took to social media to express her frustration with Air India after receiving damaged luggage upon her return to India from Canada.
Sharing her disappointment on X (formerly Twitter), Rampal wrote, “Thank you, Air India, for this wonderful surprise. This is how your staff treat our bags. On my way back from Canada to India this afternoon, after landing in Delhi, I found my bag broken.” The post was accompanied by a picture of her damaged suitcase.
Air India responded to her post, stating, “Dear Ms. Rampal, we apologize for the inconvenience caused. Please DM us your ticket details, bag tag number, and damage complaint number/DBR copy. We'll take this up.” However, many users felt that the airline's reply was inadequate and came too late to address the situation properly.
Several social media users shared similar stories of luggage damage and poor service. One user commented, "Same thing happened with my luggage at Goa MOPA Airport. IndiGo broke the handle, left two big holes, and various cracks, and sold the bag per kg just two days ago." Another remarked that Air India’s service has been getting progressively worse over time.
One user suggested that Rampal should file for a refund or compensation, while another recounted a frustrating experience where they lost expensive headphones on an Air India flight and received no response to their complaints.
The overall sentiment on social media was clear poor customer service and damaged luggage have become a recurring issue with Air India. Many expressed disappointments with the airline's standards, with one user summing it up as “the normal norm while traveling with Air India. Luggage is often delayed, and when it arrives, it’s broken. Same to same experience.”
