Rs 200 Chai and Flight Delays: SpiceJet Passenger's T3 Experience Triggers Reddit Outrage

A SpiceJet passenger's recent experience at Delhi's T3 terminal has sparked considerable discussion on Reddit, with many travelers voicing their frustrations about airport amenities and airline services.

The passenger, who was scheduled to fly from Delhi's T3 terminal at 10:30 AM, arrived early, hoping to use the lounge. However, they were disappointed to find that the lounge was under renovation, leaving them with limited options to pass the time.

"But still that's not too bad, right? I could just eat in one of the food stores? Here's the thing, though: there are only three food stores in the entire terminal, and they are crazy overpriced," the user wrote in their post, which has garnered 652 upvotes and 224 comments.

The user detailed the steep prices, noting that a cup of tea costs Rs 200, coffee Rs 300, and Rajma Rice Rs 400, despite the small portion size. "Burger - Rs 300 (this was the cheapest, by the way)," they added. Adding to the inconvenience, there were no seating areas near the food stores.

The situation worsened when the flight, initially delayed by one hour, faced further delays after boarding. "After the flight arrived at the airport and we all started boarding the plane by 11:30 AM, and successfully finished boarding by 12:00 noon. Though the flight still didn't take off," the user wrote. They were eventually asked to deboard, with the new take-off time pushed to 2:45 PM. The airline provided no explanation for the delay.

The Reddit post sparked a wave of reactions from other users. One commenter wrote, "I never trust SpiceJet. They are the most pathetic airline service." Another user questioned the original poster's description of the terminal's amenities, stating, "T3 has an entire food court on the first floor."

Some users speculated on the reason behind the flight delay. "The reason your flight got delayed is because they are combining passengers from two different flights to cut costs when one flight doesn't get fully booked. Therefore, it's better not to book with SpiceJet," one commenter suggested.
