In today's fast-moving world, having friends and people with whom you can talk is the greatest asset a person can have. In recent news, a social media post has gone viral in which a Microsoft employee is seen moonlighting, and the reason is unusual. He wasn’t doing the other work because of a financial crisis, but because of the lack of people to talk to.

Venkatesh Gupta, a resident of Bengaluru, shared a post in which he said that a Microsoft engineer also drives an auto to end his loneliness. The hoodie that the man (the driver) was wearing has the logo of Microsoft. And this post has sparked a conversation among people about the importance of social connections and having friends.

Check out the viral post:

In the post, Venkatesh Gupta wrote, “Met a 35 year old staff software engineer at Microsoft in Kormangala driving Namma Yatri to combat loneliness on weekends.”

The post has garnered over 3.5 lakh reactions and 10,000 likes. And people in the comment sections showed mixed reactions of sympathy and confusion.

One user wrote, “As the tech industry grows, so does the phenomenon of loneliness among professionals. A hidden truth: sometimes, the most advanced technology can’t replace human interaction.”

Another one said, “Tats gr8, he knows how imp is mental health. Change of subject is rest. An engineer at my office works as bartender to get relaxed.”

“I have seen Accenture employee working in Royal Enfield showroom as mechanic,” shared a third one.

A fourth user said, “There is a breakdown of interpersonal bonds in present times. The fast pace of life coupled with rising stress in various facets of a person’s daily ”existence” has driven people apart instead of bringing them together. Digital world has further made us emotional islands.”

“Staff software engineer??? At microsoft??? Driving auto??? Dude earns enough money to combat loneliness in tons of other ways. I'm 110% sure this dude is here to find a bride for himself with this impressive story. Too much family pressure to get married I guess.”

Another user synced the voice and wrote, “Have been working remotely from home for years now and honestly the though of being an Uber driver over the weekend has crossed my mind. So I am not the only one who thinks this way.”

“Pto battle loneliness, did you get to ask further, Why not do some collective social activities to beat boredom. Rickshaw somehow doesn't fit, as a solution,” said one user.
