A few years ago, Khoirul Anam grabbed headlines for his unconventional love story with a rice cooker.

Anam shared photographs of the wedding day, in which he was dressed in traditional white attire, and the rice cooker was adorned with a translucent white veil. The rice cooker was placed next to Khoirul during the ritual, and in one of the photographs, he is seen kissing the appliance. The marriage papers were even signed by ‘both.’

The caption of his post explained the reason for marrying the rice cooker: “It is white, loving, and obedient. Without you, my rice is not cooked.”

However, just four days after the wedding, Khoirul announced in a Facebook post that he had divorced the rice cooker because it could only cook rice.

His post read, "My decision is unanimous.. it's really hard.. but this is the path I take.. there is no perfect partner."
