Viral News: In a thrilling cat-and-mouse like game struck chord with netizens when a would-be victim turned the tables on a scammer in a viral phone call.
The video, which has been making rounds on social media, showcases the sheer game of scammers and the quick-wittedness of the man on the receiving end. The caller, posing as a bank representative, attempts to con the man into revealing his UPI PIN under the pretext of crediting a hefty sum of ₹8,999 into his account.
"You need to enter the PIN for verification," the scammer insists, oblivious to the fact that he's being recorded and potentially exposed. The man, however, plays along, keeping the scammer on the line as the tension mounts.

Netizens in the comment section started sharing their thoughts and opinions. One user wrote, ‘These scammers are well-organized and operate from call center-like offices. I remember watching a YouTube video where someone hacked into the office cameras of these scammers. They look just like regular employees working in an office.’
‘With Today’s announcement in MPC on delegated payments this would only increase manifold - not sure what control mechanism are going to be in place - in my view pre authenticated this is good use case to integrate ZK protocols to increase safety.’ Another user added.

One more X user says, ‘Appreciate this guy sharing this experience, but it's a total waste of time to engage with scamsters. Best to cut such calls asap & block them. Financial advisers ought to educate folks on how NOT TO engage with scamsters, and not promote unnecessary engagement like in this case.’
This isn't the first instance of scammers being caught in their own trap. With increasing awareness about such fraudulent activities, more and more people are becoming vigilant.
