Wayanad: At least 45 people were killed in landslides triggered by monsoon rain in Kerala's Wayanad today. Hundreds more were feared trapped with government agencies, including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and local residents involved in the rescue operation.

Many heart-wrenching videos have emerged from Wayanad capturing the massive destruction caused by a landslide. The video shows muddy water, a trail of devastation, with houses, vehicles, and roads washed away and leaving people and vehicles stranded in the disaster.

A bridge connecting Chooralmala to Mundakkai and Attamala has collapsed, isolating the two places and making it difficult for rescue personnel to reach trapped families.

Several people have tragically lost their lives. According to district authorities, several families have been moved to the various camps or homes of their relatives in the wake of the landslides.
