New Delhi: Tech billionaire and CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk on a X post has made a scathing attack on those “criminals” who vandalized and targeted Tesla vehicles and service Centre, highlighting the company’s advanced Sentry Mode as a powerful deterrent against the growing wave of violence and vandalism.
Musk’s post references an earlier thread from Tesla, where the company outlined its vehicles’ advanced camera systems. Each car is equipped with at least seven cameras positioned around the vehicle, forming a comprehensive security setup.
In a bold statement of X (formerly Twitter), Musk wrote in a post sending a clear message to the vandalizers and potential criminals: “Bad news for criminals.” He underscored the new advanced Sentry mode's ability to capture video evidence of anyone attempting to harm Tesla cars.
These cameras are part of Tesla’s standard security features, designed to monitor and record suspicious activity around parked vehicles. Tesla noted that any incidents captured are documented and stored locally on the car for security purposes.
Musk’s statement comes at a time when troubling reports of vandalism and arson targeting Tesla vehicles and dealerships across the United States. Just last week, a Tesla dealership in California reported multiple vehicles being set on fire, with authorities investigating the incident as a coordinated act of vandalism.
Similar incidents have been reported in the US, including spray-painted messages like "No Musk" and attacks on Tesla charging stations.
These acts of aggression are believed to be fueled by growing public anger toward Musk’s high-profile political stances and his outspoken support for US President Donald Trump.
Tesla’s advanced Sentry Mode, described in detail on the company’s support website and third-party resources, uses the vehicle’s cameras and sensors to detect potential threats, notify owners via the Tesla mobile app, and save footage to a USB drive. This feature, standard on all new Tesla models, has been praised as an “intelligent vehicle security system” that not only deters crime but also provides critical evidence for law enforcement.
