California: California Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil is being sued by her former chief of staff, Chad Condit, who accuses her of sexual abuse and creating a toxic work environment.

The lawsuit, filed in Sacramento Superior Court, claims that Alvarado-Gil coerced Condit into sexual acts and fired him when he resisted.

Condit alleges that he felt pressured to engage in sexual activities over several years to keep his job. He claims that Alvarado-Gil had a preference for oral sex and treated it as part of her power. He is seeking compensation for lost wages, diminished earning capacity, employee benefits, and emotional distress.

The lawsuit details that Condit was subjected to "sexual acrobatics" as part of a “quid pro quo” arrangement, which led to physical injuries, including three herniated discs and a collapsed hip. He claims these injuries occurred during work-related travel and began using his back issues as a reason to refuse further demands.

According to the complaint, Alvarado-Gil, who was elected in 2022, began sharing personal and intimate details with Condit soon after hiring him. She reportedly discussed her dating life, divorces, substance use, and other personal matters. Condit alleges that his employment was terminated in December 2023 after he refused to wear a Santa Claus costume, which he argues was not a requirement for other staff members.

Alvarado-Gil’s attorney, Ognian Gavrilov, has dismissed the allegations as "bogus" and "financially motivated," claiming that the former employee fabricated the story to seek financial gain.

The Senator, who recently switched her party affiliation from Democrat to Republican, has also been in the news for her political shift, citing disagreements with her former party’s leadership and policies.

Marie Alvarado-Gil is married and has six children.
