Cyclone Gati impacted Yemen's Socotra Island after it lashed Somalia with winds reaching 115 miles per hour (185 kilometres per hour).
In the island's capital Hadibo it caused flooding, cut roads and damaged property.
On Monday, the National Center of Meteorology announced that the trough will continue to move from Socotra to the west of Somalia and the northwest towards the Gulf of Aden.
Yemen's pro-government SABA news agency reported Monday that seven Yemeni fishermen drowned on Sunday after their boat capsized near a Somali port.
