The Greek Health Ministry in Athens organised a media tour on Wednesday to show one of its vaccination centres which is expected to start from Sunday.

On Saturday, Greece will receive the first 9,000 vaccines.

Speaking from one health centre in Athens, Dr Karabelas Militiadis told The Associated Press that the vaccination process is expected to take between 10 and 15 minutes.

After a patient receives the jab, they will wait in a designated area for around 15 minutes to be checked for possible reactions, a routine step.

The vaccination programme will coincide with the National Health Organization's (EODY) continued COVID rapid testing.

Greece confirmed 937 new coronavirus cases, which drove the total number to 133,365.
