Former President of Peru, Alberto Fujimori, underwent cardiac surgery to open a clogged artery on Monday.
His daughter, politician Keiko Fujimori, said the procedure lasted 40 minutes and had now been completed.
The former president was taken to hospital on Friday from a prison where he's serving a 25-year sentence for human rights abuses, corruption and the sanctioning of death squads.
There's been speculation that he may be moved to a different prison after leaving hospital.

But Keiko Fujimori called on the government to rule that out, saying her father wasn't well enough for such a move.
It would amount to an "attack against his life," she said.

Outside the hospital, supporters of Alberto Fujimori held a rally and demanded he be freed from jail altogether.
Fujimori was pardoned in 2017 on humanitarian grounds by then-president Pedro Pablo Kuczynski.
But a court overturned that decision a year later.
