The cold weather front brought temperatures below freezing, forcing authorities to close several roads and bridges for traffic in central parts of Croatia.
State weather services have issued red and orange warning for high winds and storms in certain parts of the country.
Ten-to-twenty-five centimetres of snow fell in just several hours since Wednesday morning in the Gospic area in central Croatia.

Snow also snarled traffic in parts of Slovenia and Bosnia with authorities warning of slippery roads and urging caution.
