New Delhi: United States President, Donald Trump has stunned the world yet again after his remark on social media indicating that on the State visit to United Kingdom, he would accept a "secret offer" from King Charles to become the next "associate member" of the Commonwealth.

The British monarch is said to have extended a "secret offer" to Donald Trump during a state visit to UK. The invitation was hand-delivered by PM Keir Starmer to the US President during his recent visit to the US. Following the gesture, President Trump praised King Charles and Sir Keir Starmer as "beautiful" and "special" after receiving the invitation.
This comes after Starmer's revelation that Trump had been invited by King Charles for a historic second state visit during their meeting at the White House. Reports indicate that King Charles will propose inviting the United States to become the next "associate member" of the Commonwealth.
A tariff war erupted between the US and Canada, with Trump signing orders to impose nearly universal tariffs on Canadian goods entering the United States.
The British Royal Family is reportedly hoping to reduce tensions between Canada and the United States, after Donald Trump repeatedly suggested he may annex his neighbouring ally and make it 51st State of US.
The Commonwealth, with a total population of over 2.7 billion, is one of the world’s oldest political associations. Its origins trace back to Britain’s former Empire.
"Many Commonwealth members were territories that had historically come under British rule through settlement, conquest, or cession," the Commonwealth's website said.
Canada, where the King serves as head of state, is part of the Commonwealth of Nations. Including the United States could help ease the ongoing conflict.
