Washington: Apple is addressing a bug in the iPhone's dictation feature which replaces the word 'racist' with 'Trump.' The glitch has been recognized by the tech giant.

Several videos are making rounds on the social media platform where users are displaying that the word racist gets replaced with Trump on their phones.

Apple has attributed this glitch to a flaw in the speech recognition model.

Apple has mentioned that due to phonetic overlaps in its speech recognition model, dictation might temporarily display words with similar sounds before finalizing the correct one.

It has reassured users that an immediate fix is being implemented to rectify this issue.

This is not the first time when big-tech giants have been in the middle of a controversy over searches or results produced on their platforms regarding Donald Trump.

In the run-up to the US presidential polls, Donald Trump had accused the tech giant Google of displaying only "bad stories" about him while praising her rival Kamala Harris.

“It has been determined that Google has illegally used a system of only revealing and displaying bad stories about Donald J. Trump, some made up for this purpose while, at the same time, only revealing good stories about Comrade Kamala Harris,” Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social platform. He also threatened legal action against Google in September 2024.

However, the search engine giant has stated that it does not create biased search results to favour any political candidate.
