Israel's extensive military operations in the occupied West Bank continued into a second day on Thursday, with the Israeli military reporting the deaths of five terrorists, including a prominent commander.
The raids, which began before dawn on Wednesday, have resulted in a rising death toll. According to Wafa, the Palestinian Authority’s official news agency, 17 people have been killed in the ongoing operations. On Thursday, the Israeli military intensified its actions, conducting raids across the city of Tulkarm and closing off entrances to the nearby Nur Shams neighborhood.
Among those killed on Thursday was Muhammad Jaber, also known as Abu Shujaa. The Israeli military confirmed that Jaber, a young commander of the terrorist group Palestinian Islamic Jihad, was killed during the raids. Palestinian Islamic Jihad has acknowledged his death, marking a significant loss for the group.
Jaber led the local branch of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, which has a strong presence in the Tulkarm camp. The ongoing operations reflect Israel’s efforts to target terrorist groups and address security concerns in the region. The Israeli military’s actions have drawn significant attention and raised concerns about the escalating violence and civilian casualties in the area.
