New Delhi: United States Vice President, JD Vance has irked controversy after his remark on his wife, Usha Vance, putting forward that whenever "cameras are all on...she has to smile, laugh, and celebrate" whenever he speaks, has now sparked backlash on the internet.

Vice President Vance made this comment during a public event in Michigan, and a video clip of his' remark has now gone viral all over social media, sparking massive outrage.

‘She has to Smile’: Vance's Remark on his Wife

Vance was quoted saying, "Here’s the thing. The cameras are all on; anything I say, no matter how crazy, she has to smile, laugh, and celebrate it."

Before his mood shifted, Vance was praising his wife Usha, where he said that she is "doing a great job as the second lady of the United States"

While JD Vance was addressing the event, his wife Usha can be seen standing behind his and smiling widely.

Outrage All over Social Media

Though Usha's smile seemed playful, her remark didn't sit well with many on social media. Critics quickly voiced their concerns, calling Vance as “pathetic excuse for a man.” Some even urged Usha to "run" and criticized the Vice president for making light of his wife's position in a disrespectful manner.

One such critique was made by an X user, who said that all a Woman has to do is “just smile and no” as daily routine. The user added humour by saying “what better way to celebrate Women’s Month than by reminding women their role is to grin through whatever comes their way?”
