North Korea's Congress continued for a fifth day Saturday, state media reported early Sunday morning. Leader Kim Jong Un attended but did not make a speech according to the official report.
The meeting concentrated on the nuts and bolts of running the ruling Workers' Party of Korea, including its relationship with the military, and its finances. "The Congress continues" the Korean Central News Agency said at the end of its readout of Day 5, Saturday.
This 8th Congress has now run longer than the last landmark Congress in 2016. Usually, at the end of the meeting, there will be an announcement of the new line-up of top officials, and a big parade through Kim Il Sung Square.
