Man Beheads His Newlywed Wife In Houston, Dumps Body Behind Parents' Home 

Houston (US): In a horrific incident, a 23-year-old man in the United States has been sentenced to a 40-year prison for the brutal murder and beheading of his newlywed wife.

The trial of the convict identified as Jared James Dicus concluded on Wednesday. He murdered his wife Anggy Diaz (21).

Husband Pleads Guilty 

He pleaded guilty to the murder and was sentenced to four decades in prison. The court also pronounced that Dicus will not come out on parole until 2043. The pair got married in October 2022. 

According to the officials, the death of  Anggy Dias was reported when Discus' parents made a call, reporting a possible death at their property. Police said that the head of the deceased was discovered in the shower.   

He was later nabbed by police and admitted to detectives about his crime.  

"Waller County does not tolerate domestic violence. Heinous crimes like this one will not go unanswered," Waller County District Attorney Sean Whittmore said in a statement last week.

"We will seek justice for the victims of domestic violence and send a message to the perpetrators that here, we fight for our victims," he added.

The plea agreement bars Jared James Dicus from appealing his verdict and sentence. This pre-trial arrangement was reached after Mr. Dicus was declared competent to stand trial despite concerns about his mental capacity. Before finalizing the deal and sentencing, the District Attorney's Office consulted with the victim's family.
