Birmingham: A massive fire on Wednesday broke out in the Hastingwood Industrial Park in the UK’s Birmingham. The fire, the cause of which is unknown yet, spread rapidly to a larger area emanating a thick plume of smoke in the sky. On information, the local police and the firefighters rushed to the spot located in the Erdington area and initiated efforts to douse the fire.

According to the reports, the site on Wood Lane is next to Fort Shopping Park and Tyburn Road.

During the fire, a large plume of smoke can be seen for miles around from the site causing traffic to slow down on nearby routes leading to major congestion on the roads.

Notably, the industrial park is tucked away in the heart of the area which is known for its factories and distribution sites, which is eventually home to several businesses.

The fire service has described the fire as 'significant' and warned the nearby residents to keep their doors and windows closed.

Further details regarding the fire incident are being awaited.
