Florida: As Hurricane Milton is set to make landfall in Flordia, NASA Astronaut Matthew Dominick shared astounding pictures of the developing storm from the International Space Station captured through the window of the SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule Endeavour.  

In a post on X, Matthew Dominick said, “Timelapse flying by Hurricane Milton today about 2 hours ago. Storm looks bigger but less symmetric than yesterday.”

“We flew over Hurricane Milton again today about an hour ago. It was not as symmetric as yesterday but it appeared larger today,” he added.

Hurricane Milton Set To Make Landfall By Midnight

Currently classified as a Category 4 storm, Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall late tonight, with various media reports forecasting a possible impact between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. tomorrow. 

The National Hurricane Center has issued urgent warnings, advising residents to complete preparations to protect life and property, including evacuations, by this morning. 

As conditions are expected to deteriorate this afternoon, authorities are emphasizing the importance of taking immediate action. Storm surge warnings are in effect for nearly the entire western coast of Florida, with extensive storm warnings extending across much of the state, including the east coast.  

Florida Authorities’ Emergency Evacuation Appeal 

“Home and belongings can be replaced, you can’t,” said Florida Authorities’ emergency while appealing for an evacuation.
