'Fugitive goat' captured for evading law enforcement in Alaska

A 'fugitive goat' who was on the run for over a day was captured by authorities on October 15 in the Alaska region by Alaska State Troopers McKenney and Lemay.

A 'fugitive goat' which evaded authorities for almost a day was finally captured by Alaska State Troopers on Tuesday in the Alaska region. The elusive goat, fondly nicknamed as 'Curry' by locals following its adventures, became an internet sensation after it was spotted running around Fairbanks on Monday.

The Fairbanks Animal Control had posted a picture of the goat on Monday, asking for the owner to come forward and help catch "this very fast goat". The ad stated that the goat is evading law enforcement and the owner's help was needed. Some internet users who spotted the goat posted videos of the runaway animal on social media.

The capture

However, it was not before Tuesday that the Alaska State Troopers captured the runaway goat. Describing the capture, the authorities took to Facebook and wrote that the goat which took the officers on a wild ride following its escape and made headlines has been captured. State Troopers McKenney and Lemay "found the little guy on Tuesday, dodging cars near a local freeway". 

"With the help of some goat-loving Samaritans, the Troopers were able to wrangle the wayward farm animal and place him behind bars ... until he could be released to his rightful owner," said the post.

Kudos state troopers, say netizens

Meanwhile, the netizens are heaping praises on the state troopers for the capture. "They did such a great job, they did it with consideration in mind much praise to these state troopers (sic)," wrote an internet user. Hailing the authorities, another user wrote, "We are proud of our law enforcers. They rise to any occasion". Commenting on the authorities' diligence, a user wrote, "Their job is alway's awesome and. alway's with great Consideration. Every. step And. careful duty. Alaska State. Trooper's. My thank's to you All (sic)".

The runaway animal's adventure too got its fair share of attention. "Goats can be pretty hard to snag. My grandma had Pygmy goats and they were hard but fun to chase. Makes for excellent cardio (sic)," wrote a netizen.
