HSBC bank closed its Hong Kong headquarters on Wednesday after the confirmation of at least three coronavirus infections, as a cluster linked to a gym frequented by finance and legal professionals continued to spread.
More than 100 infections have been linked to the cluster so far, which has affected the city's expatriate community and industries such as finance and law.
Under government orders, employees and any visitors who have visited the bank's offices since March 2 are required to take a mandatory COVID-19 test, according to public broadcaster RTHK.
Notices placed at the building said that the building was closed "temporarily" from March 17.
