Russia hospitals overwhelmed with virus patients

Hospitals in Russia are overcrowded with patients as coronavirus cases remain on a stable rate across the country.

Russia registered almost 16,000 new coronavirus cases and almost 300 deaths on Thursday.

Hospital number 4 in the eastern city of Vladivostok, which has a capacity of 400 beds, is now treating 427 patients.

In some Russian regions, officials urged the elderly to self-isolate and called on employers to have at least part of their staff work from home.

Several regions have shut down nightclubs and limited the hours of restaurants and bars.
