Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Thursday claimed that restrictions imposed against the Ministry's Twitter account were "unfounded".

Last week Twitter blocked the Ministry's posts about the deaths of civilians in the Kyiv suburb of Bucha.

As gruesome videos and photos of bodies emerged from Bucha, Kremlin-backed media denounced them as an elaborate hoax.

Across social media, a chorus of more than a dozen official Russian Twitter and Telegram accounts, as well as state-backed media Facebook pages, repeated the Kremlin line that images and video of the dead were staged.

Lavrov said despite the restrictions on the Kremlin's social media posts, the ministry "can completely rely only on domestic online platforms".
