Colorado: A 26-year-old man died after his speeding Tesla crashed into multiple vehicles, including an SUV, at a major road junction in Colorado. Reportedly, there were six people in the SUV. According to reports, the Tesla was traveling at 100 mph (160 km/h) when the accident occurred.

Shocking visuals captured on camera showed the speeding Tesla colliding with other vehicles as it crossed a road intersection at an extremely high speed.

The impact was so severe that all the vehicles involved in the head-on collision were briefly tossed into the air, with debris from the damaged vehicles scattered everywhere.

The 26-year-old driver of the Tesla was caught on camera running a red light at South Airport Boulevard in Aurora at 8 PM on Monday when it collided with an SUV carrying six passengers and a police car.

The driver, who remains unidentified, succumbed to injuries on the spot. Moments before the tragic crash, the Tesla was seen speeding down a road at nearly 97 mph, where the speed limit was just 40 mph.

The driver was spotted by a police surveillance vehicle and was chased, but he accelerated his Tesla in an attempt to escape. Tragically, he met with an accident moments later.

The SUV passengers, including two adults and four children, were rushed to a nearby hospital but fortunately sustained minor injuries, while the police officer was unharmed in the incident.

The crash engulfed the Tesla in flames, and the SUV also suffered heavy damage. The chilling accident took place when several other vehicles were waiting at the road junction, as the signal was red.

Tesla coming to India

Tesla is reportedly setting up its showrooms in India, to expand its base in Asia and add to the market competitiveness. The move has come after Prime Minister Narendra Modi recent visit to United States where he held a meeting with Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

Tesla's first showroom in India is coming up in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla complex and is also in the process of finalising space in New Delhi.
