SpaceX Founder Elon Musk's First Reaction On Crew-9 Return To Earth After Nine Months Aboard ISS: NASA astronauts who carried out the Crew-9 mission on the International Space Station (ISS) which include Sunita Williams, Nick Hagur, Butch Wilmore and Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov, splashdown off the coast of Florida on SpaceX's Dragon capsule at 3:27 am IST, Wednesday.
SpaceX Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk takes delight in the safe return of the NASA astronauts by posting on X, “Congratulations to the SpaceX and NASA teams for another safe astronaut return!” The tech mogul also expressed gratitude to President Donald Trump in the same post, writing, “Thank you to POTUS for prioritizing this mission!"
NASA astronaut and Expedition 72 Commander Sunita Williams along with her comrade Butch Wilmore were stuck aboard International Space Station (ISS) for nine months for what was known to be a quick test flight of Boeing’s Starliner capsule in June 2024. Their safe return was only made possible by the intensive work of NASA, supported by Elon Musk's owned SpaceX.
Many netizens hailed the tech mogul for his contribution to bringing back the stranded astronauts. One X user writes “Thank you for bringing the astronauts safe back home. Humanity is grateful and so are the dolphins!”.
Another X user chimes in, “Thank you Elon Musk. You did what will go down as a historically dope moment of 2025.”
