AOC calls Trumps college comment 'classist'

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Wednesday called President Trump's comments about her education 'classist.'

Trump posed the question about whether Ocasio-Cortez went to college earlier in the week at a rally in Pennsylvania while critizing her support for shifting the U.S. economy away from fossil fuels such as oil and coal and replace them with renewable sources such as wind and solar power.

"On one hand I could correct him and say, absolutely I did (go to college)," Ocasio-Cortez said during a campaign event in Astoria, Queens. "On the other hand, what I was sharing with folks is what does it even matter? You know, there are plenty of people in this country that don't have a college degree that could have absolutely run this country far better than President Trump has."

Ocasio-Cortez said voters should realize Trump is telling them "what he really thinks of you."

She said voters should "understand that and take it into consideration" when voting.
